Following Arkema’s recent $60M investment in its Calvert City, Ky., manufacturing site, the company is proud to offer its 1233zd blowing agent for proprietary foam applications in the North American construction and appliance markets.
As part of this commitment, Arkema has developed and patented key technologies around the use of Forane® Foam Blowing Agent (FBA) 1233zd, a next-generation low Global Warming Potential (GWP) blowing agent that delivers exceptional thermal performance, improved environmental impact over previous generation blowing agents, and enhanced safety for PU foam applications.
Arkema’s strong focus on investing in R&D and domestic US manufacturing reflects its strategic intent to support the growth and evolution of the North American polyurethane foam market well into the future. These efforts have resulted in patents that cover the proprietary use of Forane® FBA 1233zd in spray foam applications, ensuring that that its customers can access the latest in foam technology. Arkema also leverages its global footprint to ensure a reliable and consistent supply of Forane® FBA 1233zd to customers worldwide.
Arkema continues to proactively monitor, evaluate, and respond to activities (such as importing, offering for sale or using 1233zd from unlicensed sources) that may infringe our existing patent portfolio. By protecting its intellectual property in these applications, Arkema is able to continue funding and developing even longer-term high-performance solutions for the future construction and appliance sectors.
Arkema remains fully committed to the PU foam market and looks forward to supporting customers in achieving their own strategic growth objectives. Our sales and technical teams are available for further discussions and collaboration.
