Arkema announces that a patent infringement lawsuit has been filed on July 21, 2026 against HighChem Co., Ltd. (Tokyo, Japan) before the Tokyo District Court (Reiwa 8 (Wa) No. 170625).
The lawsuit seeks an injunction against the defendant's import and sale, among other acts, of HFO-1233zd(E) (trans-1-chloro-3,3,3-trifluoropropene), asserting the following two Japanese patents held by Arkema Inc.:
- Japanese Patent No. 6149000, relating to blowing agents for thermosetting foams such as polyurethane foams,
- and Japanese Patent No. 6205392, relating to heat transfer fluid compositions used as refrigerants.
